Future Flight is a non-profit organization founded to enhance the ability of the Midland Independent School Systems to promote and teach science. Future Flight seeks to motivate students into careers in science, by viewing and exploring science in action. The program draws on locally available expertise in the field of science to augment what the school system can provide. Benefactors from the private sector are sought not only for financial support, but also for the educational and mentoring opportunities that they can provide students.

The C.W. Craig Award is given to students who have demonstrated a high level of achievement, skill and imagination in the annual West Texas Science Fair. The winners recieve an expense paid trip to Cape Canaveral, Florida to view a Space Shuttle launch and to see science in action by spending time with N.A.S.A scientists.

Future Flight is endorsed by the Midland Independent School System, N.A.S.A. and the Texas Aerospace Commission. The program is supported through the Midland High and Lee High Schools Math and Science Booster Club and is a registered 503 (c) non-profit organization.
